Ive been thinking a lot lately about the idea of contamination, the topic which we all wrote about for our first exam.  One type of retail business that faces the obstacle of overcoming consumers concerns with contamination on a daily or even per transaction basis is a resale shop or thrift store. Macklemore's video below shows a different side to thrift shopping.

Thrift Shop By Macklemore and Ryan Lewis

Props to Macklemore for trying to influence people to get over possible contamination issues with a product and for encouraging people to have pride in their thrift shop prowess.

Being a broke college student I am a huge fan of thrift store shopping.  Most of my favorite clothing items in my closet were purchased for less than $3 at a thrift store or retail shop.  I haven't a clue as to who the previous owners were or how many there have been, in turn making each and every clothing item unique.  I would much rather pay a fraction of the price for a vintage t shirt with a story than any designer t that is probably owned by thousands of other people.  So next time you have a hot date and need a new shirt, hat or whatever make a trip to the thrift shop, and don't be surprised when you still have money in your wallet and keep getting compliments on your vintage style.

Mecklemore's new album "The Heist" drops October 9th. Support northwest hip hop and pick it up!
